Aurora

Aurora Aksnes born 15th June 1996 Stavanger is a Norwegian song writer and singer. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves was released through Decca Records Decca Records in May 2015 and received a lot of praise by music journalists and media. She's recorded a variety of well-known cover songs, including Half the World Away (by the band Oasis) to accompany John Lewis' Christmas advert and Nature Boy (by Nat King Cole) and were widely appreciated. Her name was also recognized through a tweet from Katy Perry where Perry endorsed her song Runaway. It was her birthday celebration. Aurora Aksnes' earliest musical memory is of finding the piano in her attic, and becoming fascinated with the sound it made. Jan Oystein Aksnes and May-Britt Aksnes encouraged her to learn music, not for work or for a passion however, as a chance to grow. So she started her own compositions. Her influences include renowned authors Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan in addition to her love of Bjork's style. After her mother said that the songs she composed might not gain fame for her rather to help people to see their own value and impact to the world, she started singing them in public. She started playing piano at age six and writing music at age nine. This was not known to her family until she turned fourteen. Aurora was not a dream of her childhood. As she says, she simply enjoys writing songs. According to her music, it is the best way to express anything.
